It looks like the Prime Minister is considering him for the job.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most respected actors in B-town at the moment. He has a plethora of hit movies under his belt and a few national awards, the recent one being for his role in Piku. Now it looks like the man who has it all is about to get bestowed upon with an even bigger honour.
Politician Amar Singh has said that he heard about Big B’s nomination as the presidential candidate from Narendra Modi. It seems that the Prime Minister has been considering the veteran actor to replace the current president Pranab Mukherjee once his tenure is over. This does not come as a very shocking news if one sees the connection the PM and Big B have shared for a while.
Mr Singh introduced the actor to the politician back when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. This was around the time Amitabh was shooting for Paa. Soon after which Big B became the brand ambassador of Gujarat. Over the years the bond between the two only seems to be strengthening.
Amitabh has also openly supported the Prime Minister in his Make in India initiative. As exciting this news might be for Big B fans, it is the claim of Amar Singh only and no official statement has been given by either Modi or Amitabh.
