I expected Manik’s comeback to drastically change the way the storyline had been shaping up. But season 2 is becoming yet another season 1. Read on!
Parth Samthaan aka Manik’s much awaited comeback in Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan’s season 2 has finally taken place. The actor was seen re-entering the show at the time when his band Fab 5 needed him the most. They didn’t have a lead singer nor a replacement. But Manik made a grand entry and saved the day. I expected Manik’s entry to not only be dhamakedaar but also to bring about a change in the way the storyline had been shaping up since the last few episodes. Nandini(Niti Taylor) was shown trying to figure the reason behind Manik’s sudden absence with help from Aryaman(Karan Jotwani). But Manik’s entry had barely helped, considering the fact that his comeback hasn’t been explained and nor has the reason for Cabir’s sudden disappearance, been revealed. All in all, Manik’s re entry in the series has been disappointing. Here are 3 reasons why:
Too many questions, zero answers
Where was Manik all this while? How did he manage to come back? What happened to Cabir? These are questions running through not only my mind but those of the fans as well. Manik has returned and I was hoping to get answers to all these questions, once he got back. But to my disappointment, Fab 5 is rejoicing his comeback instead of asking him these basic and most important questions. Everyone is talking of Cabir like he’s dead. Maybe he is. But why hasn’t anyone tried to contact his family, and figure out what exactly happened to him? Manik was there with Cabir during the car accident. Why hasn’t he explained what happened to him? It’s strange that Fab 5 is content with Manik’s return and not eager enough to get answers. Even if Parth’s exit and comeback in the series was sudden, the makers should have found a way to incorporate the same in the show. Right now, everything is random.
ManNan is back but boring
I don’t know about the fans but I’ve certainly had enough of Manik and Nandini’s romance. Agreed that the two have met after a long time and need to spend time alone. But their romance takes me back to their intimate and corny scenes from season 1. There’s no progress in the love story and things are back to square one, where Manik and Nandini’s scenes are limited to them being extra cheesy like before. The latest episodes are showing them together and I feel no excitement looking at the two.
Fab 5 or drab 5?
I expected Fab 5 to come back in full form, now that Manik has returned. The band needs to pull up its socks and requires a major makeover in terms of its reputation as well as music. But Manik is busy with Nandini and is not paying a mind to his band. Agreed that the two need to spend time together, but everything can be done in moderation.
