Dhadak, which is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat earned Rs 4.02 cr on its second Saturday. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 58.19 crore. Janhavi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar’s film has become the most successful film featuring newcomers beating Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year. Janhavi has spread her charm and people are talking about her lovely screen presence. Ishaan who proved he is a capable actor with Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds reaffirms why he is one of the talents to watch out for. A press conference was held to celebrate the success of the film.

The original Sairat was a tale of two lovers who defy the caste system to elope and marry. It got movie-goers acquainted with the horror of honour killings. While Shashank Khaitan’s adaptation of the original has got mixed reviews, people have liked the lead pair. Even Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan and Sanjay Dutt have lavished love on them. Earlier, Rajesh Khattar told Bollywood Life, “Whether the film is success or failure, it is not a concern. The concern for any parent is to get the assurance that wherever his child is going is meant for him or not. If yes, he or she will find their own way. All of us did. Cinema is meant for Ishaan and he will grow. Success and failure are by-products, I pray that the audience loves him and his work.
