Priyanka Chopra, in her pursuit of global domination, has been stealing hearts like candies–of course beau Nick J’s included–and honestly, #BrownGirlLoving is all I’m living for right now. But apart from the sparkling romance, it’s PeeCee’s stars that are shining brighter than ever.
After kicking ass as FBI agent Alex Parrish in American Series, ‘Quantico’ and stealing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s in ‘Baywatch’ and Hollywood subsequently, the desi girl is apparently all set to sink her teeth into another international series. But there’s a twist. According to DNA, Priyanka is next foraying into the emerging (and booming) world of web-series! You heard that right. Reportedly, she is in talks with production houses in the West for a fiction series and fans will be able to catch it on one of the top online streaming portals.
Well, I’m no trade pundit but you’ll agree, this couldn’t have happened at a better time. Especially, after the massive success of Netflix’s ‘Sacred Games’ in India alongside the global audience which is already privy to such content. Even Saif Ali Khan who received raving reviews for his portrayal of Sartaj Singh told BollywoodLife that web-series as a format is for the binge-watching generation. “It is a free environment, the whole point of the internet is that it is free of judgement and censorship. You don’t want to offend anyone, you just want to tell a story properly.” Also read: Priyanka Chopra’s pre-birthday celebration with Nick Jonas turned into a double date with Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
And we couldn’t agree more! As for PC, we are sure she will wear it as another badge of honour, as and when she does. The buzz comes after the news of Priyanka coming on board with Will Smith for a You Tube Original, ‘If I Could Tell You Just One Thing,’ which will feature her journey to meet inspirational people and ask them advice on how to change the world. Back at bay, she will be seen next in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’, which also stars Salman Khan, Tabu, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. And ‘The Sky is Pink’, which is based on the real-life story of Aisha Chaudhary (My Little Epiphanies). It stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim and is being directed by Shonali Bose.
