Though an official remake, Dhadak trailer looks quite different from Sairat trailer – here’s why we think so

The makers of Dhadak just dropped the official trailer of the film and within just two hours, it became an internet sensation. Twitter is flooded with praises for Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor‘s charismatic screen presence and aura. Even the camera work and the crackling chemistry between the leads looks amazing in the trailer. But despite being an official remake of Sairat, the trailer of Dhadak has a different impact altogether from the original. If you’ve seen Sairat or even watched its trailer, you will notice Dhadak has a different feel to it. To justify our point, here are some core details about the character and plot of the film.

Talking about Sairat, the film was raw, rustic and showcased the perfect the balance of friendship and love. While in the Dhadak trailer, we see the makers are just establishing the romance and love between the lead characters. On the other hand, Ishaan’s friends are just shown as sidekicks and not a single dialogue is given to them in the trailer, unlike Sairat. If you remember, Archie’s character in Sairat was fearless and dominating, while Janhvi’s character looks quite subtle. The makers might have chosen not to show intense and dramatic scenes in the trailer intentionally so that they can surprise the audience upon the film’s release. Sairat came as a path-breaking film in the Marathi industry and we hope Dhadak follows suit. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan, who previously helmed films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The music of the film is given by Ajay-Atul, who also composed for the original one. Produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Dhadak is set to hit the screens on July 20.
