Siddharth’s horror thriller Aval has received majorly positive reviews, with the only threat being the torrential downpour across various parts of the state of Tamil Nadu. The movie directed by Milind Rau is bankrolled jointly by Etaki Entertainment and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. ‘Trident Arts’ Ravindran, who has released the film, has confirmed that the film is doing extraordinary business at the box office. His last distribution Vikram Vedha, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Maddy in the lead roles, was a blockbuster and set the cash registers ringing for nearly two months.
“The reviews and response have been fantastic, to say the least, but not surprising at all. The movie is turning out to be a bumper hit, and the genre of ‘genuine horror’ has reinstated its authority after a long time in Tamil cinema. Hailing from director Mani Ratnam’s school, director Milind Rau has well and truly proved his brilliance. His efforts in making this film technically strong have had a tremendous impact on the audience,” said producer-distributor Trident Ravi in a statement. “Entry of talents like Milind Rau is sure to make Tamil cinema greener. The passion of this cast and crew in making ‘Aval’ is evident in every frame. I am delighted and honoured to have released ‘Aval’, and I can confidently say it is another crucial feather in my cap,” added an elated Ravi. Siddharth was very confident about the film’s success in all his pre-release interviews. And, the actor has truly walked the talk with Aval, which also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Atul Kulkarni and Anisha Victor in important roles. The movie has music composed by Girish of Vidiyum Munn fame. Critics have raved about the soundscape of the film, whose Telugu and Hindi versions are slated for November 10th release.
