Saif Ali Khan has quite a lavish set of films in near future. The mellow, sweet and sugary trailer of his film Chef was released recently and has been well-received by the audience. And before that the psychedelic trailer of Kaalakaandi had us all intrigued and stoked about the film. Then there was the teaser poster of Bazaar that looked so classy. Now, we have our hands on the latest development in Saif’s filmography. The actor is playing a sardaar once again in an upcoming project, Sacred Games. The actor was clicked by the paparazzi, in Mumbai today, shooting for the Netflix series. Sacred Games, directed by Anurag Kashyap, is based on a novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra. Saif will play a Sikh cop, Sartaj, who in his forties and is separated from his wife. Sartaj takes up the deadly job to bring down one of the most notorious criminal gangs in Mumbai, in the fictional world of Sacred Games.
Talking about going back to playing a sardaar, Saif has earlier impressed us with his turban clad look in the Imitaz Ali directed romantic drama Love Aaj Kal though that look only occupied a very small portion of the screen time.With Sacred Games, the case will be different as Saif will be donning the turban throughout. In other news, Saif has been replaced from Race 3, by Salman Khan. And nope it does not come as a shock for the actor. He knew well in advance that producer Ramesh Taurani wanted to make third film in the Race franchise with a new cast and storyline, as revealed by Saif while launching the trailer of Chef.
Also, in a recent interview with BollywoodLife, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had confirmed that he has been roped in for Sacred Games, and will soon start shooting for the series.
